BASF Construction Chemicals has created a guide to protecting structures and buildings from reinforced concrete corrosion

BASF Construction Chemicals, which will take part in CONSTRUTEC, has prepared a guide for its MasterProtect 8000 CI product, the only corrosion inhibitor containing DIT Plus.

The purpose of this new guide is to help and advise architects, engineers and project designers in general preparing specifications to prevent corrosion with MasterProtect 8000 CI. The document establishes safety guidelines to follow when choosing this product to renovate a structure.

MasterProtect 8000 CI, a Master Builders Solution, is basically used in projects to repair structures affected by corrosion, to ensure that the reinforced concrete recovers its original features and durability.

It is an organo-functional silane basedcorrosion inhibitor certified incompliance with EN 1504 with the CE Mark, supplied as a low viscosity clear liquid. MasterProtect 8000 CI is a surface coating for both new concrete and concrete affected by corrosion. Once applied, MasterProtect 8000 CI migrates through the pores in the concrete to the reinforcement and generates a highly resistant area that reduces the speed of oxidation.
