The Federation of Municipalities and Provinces will encourage energy efficiency in rehabilitation, two interrelated market niches, at the trade fair.

The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and the Fundación La Casa que Ahorra (FLCQA) have renewed their cooperation agreement to encourage the application of energy efficiency improvement criteria in building. This is an agreement in which rehabilitation, which is closely linked to efficiency, also has an important role.

It is the great advantages to be gained by associating rehabilitation and efficiency that will make it an essential aspect of all types of projects in years to come, and a subject matter that will be prominent at CONSTRUTEC.

The collaboration between the FEMP and La Casa que Ahorra materialises in several main lines. Firstly, they cooperate in training, teaching and knowledge exchange. Secondly, the FEMP and the FLCQA will take part in joint projects in relation to building in accordance with energy efficiency improvement criteria and they will advise each other. They will also organise joint seminars and communication campaigns on the use of criteria for improving energy efficiency in building.

Among these activities is a campaign to educate citizens and raise awareness among local entities. To do this, a kit of materials on energy efficiency in building will be created and made available to town councils to enable them to inform the population about the importance of improving energy efficiency. The materials include recommendations for the general public and measures which individual citizens can adopt to make their homes more efficient.
